RJ4ALL

Restorative Justice for All (RJ4ALL) contacted NSET for a grant to expand their Rotherhithe Community Garden. RJ4ALL were able to expand the community garden into an enriching and inviting outdoor green space for residents, and to enlist the support and input of community members in the design. The community garden has been home to gardening workshops, empowering Rotherhithe residents both by teaching the importance of reducing food waste and strategies for tasty low-budget healthy eating, as well as creative activities that allowed community members to help beautify their local spaces. Overall the community garden has become an increasingly central social space for local residents, and RJ4ALL have helped foster a more sustainable local community.

London Bubble : Older Adults Touring Company

London Bubble focuses on encouraging older adults to create and participate in theatre that resonates with them. They provide access to live performances for residents in sheltered housing who are unable to otherwise experience live theatre. These performances are written performed by older non-professional actors, to create a work that resonates between actor play and audience. Their play, Beneath the Papers, toured in 2023 and 2024 in older adults residences, as well as a larger performance at Canada Water Theatre.

Among the actors, the play was able to encourage teamwork and social participation among a grown who are at risk of becoming severely isolated from others. The audience felt that the content of the play and the choice of actors spoke to them personally, and was a genuinely fulfilling and impactful experience.
