Our Golden Ticket Programme

The Golden Ticket or Golden Grant is awarded annually by North Southwark Environment Trust.  It consists of 3 years unrestricted funding: £10,000 in the first year, £5,000 in the second and third year, (dependent on a successful report).  Being unrestricted the organisation (which does not have to be a charity) can use it for any purpose that they need it for.

The deadline for this year’s Golden Ticket applications is the 31st of March, so please apply four calendar weeks before then if you want to be considered.

There is no application form for this grant but organisations can express an interest in this grant via an elevator pitch of no more than 500 words, or half a side of A4.  The successful organisation will normally but not exclusively be:

1.     Known to North Southwark environment Trust,  i.e we have funded them before

2.     Been established longer than 10 years

3.     Be in the NSET area of benefit

4.     Be a local charity not a national charity, i.e run locally and not receiving funding from a national charity

5.     Have a turnover  of less than £1m

6.     Be community based

7.     Have an idea how the money may help the organisation thrive

After the deadline for Golden Ticket applications, trustees will create a shortlist of applicants who they feel are especially deserving. If your organisation is lucky enough to make it onto the shortlist, we’ll arrange a videoconference or in person meeting to discuss your organisation and how the funds will benefit you. After that, the trustees will make their final decision on awarding the grant.

We are keen to get this money to the right organisations.  Our first recipient, ‘Surrey Docks farm’ have called this money a “game changer” .  That is what we’re looking to achieve.

If you wish to be considered, please contact our email address with your elevator pitch, or use our contact page here.

We may call you in or visit your organization before our decision in April
